Property sale prices continue to inch up in the Edmonton region marking a “strong start” to the spring buying season, show new real estate numbers.
Realtors Association of Edmonton data released Tuesday shows single family home average price increased in April 2017 to $439,438, up 0.07 per cent compared to March 2017 and up 0.03 per cent relative to April 2016.
The big gain, however, was in the condominium market.
In April 2017, the average price was $257,740, an increase of 6.23 per cent over March 2017 and an increase of 2.32 per cent compared to the same period last year.
The average price of duplexes and row houses also increased, to $357,815, 2.58 per cent higher than March 2017 and 4.97 per cent higher than April 2016.
New listings also increased 2.73 per cent compared to the previous month.
“Inventory levels and unit volumes continue to increase as the weather warms, which is a typical of the market at this time of year,” Realtors Association of Edmonton chair James Mabey said in a release.
Data also shows there remains some big ticket items in the city.
The most expensive single family listing was $3,888,000 home and the biggest sale in April 2017 hit $1,523,600.
